Goodbye China . . .

Tuesday, August 28th, 2007

Lemme just say that my most recent trip to China was AMAZING. I’m pretty sure I want to live there for a couple months after college. I mean yeah it might not be so nice with the extreme humidity and horrible pollution, but I still loved my experience there and the whole aspect of studying abroad there. Here are some memorable photos of ma trip.

Unfortunately towards the end of July it was time to say goodbye to ma friends in ma program :( I loooooved everyone so much and made so many great friends! Martin’s face in the background of me and JP’S picta shows the great value of friendships I made . . . well actually he was just kind of a creeper in the pic but still it was funny!

The last night we all went out to kareoke, only two dolaaa each! Ahhh good times in Shanghai!

The Bund at night is SO beautiful, I will most definetely miss it and the night life there!

My professor, Professor Yan, was AMAZING. He was such a storyteller, he went through the entire Chinese communist revolution as the son of an elite. He even told us about how he ate bark during the Great famine. He’s my hero! He then went on to be a harvard graduate and now teaches at UCLA!! I’m so excited that I’m going to have him as a teacher again this upcoming year!! :)

Me and Christina both bought matchin’ fake LeSportsac Toki Doki Backpacks! We were the coo kids in town

After my study abroad program, my dad, sister and grandpa all came to Shanghai to visit. We visited our ancestral temple outside of Hangzhou (King Chien):

Ringing the ancestral gong

Me and my gpa in front of King Chien’s statue

We then drove to Hangzhou to see the beautiful Sunset and lotuses:

Next we went to a green tea farm, where the tea is all processed by hand

My dad put the glass to his eye because green tea “soothes the eyes” I’m not really sure if that’s true or if it’s some marketing ploy

We also visited my great aunt Helen, who is the sweetest person ever! I love her

At night me, my dad and sista went to the Absolut Ice Bar in Shanghai. The ENTIRE bar is made out of ice, all imported from Sweden. We had to wear Eskimo jackets in a freezin bar. There’s supposedly only 7 absolut ice bars in the world!! it was cooooold

Ma sista hidin’ behind the ice sculpture

lata me and yena went to babyface, which is one of the top 50 clubs IN THA WORLD! yes it got that award!! it was AMAZIN’ I really felt as though I was in Jennifer Lopez’s “Waiting for Tonight” music video:

Tha Shanghainese are hard core partaaayers

We all got downnn with tha locals. BEST PICTA of ma life

The next day we went to our relativesâ?? opera house, and we got dressed like Chinese opera stars!!!! Lemme just say that it was the best day of ma life. Well one of em

ahhh they used this weird ass â??tree rootâ? glue on ma face to hold this hair down. SO NAST

HOT pic ooo ya

Ma dad got dressed up too. They said he had an AMAZINâ?? face for opera and he could toally be an opera star!

Next we went to Bali, it was sooooo boootiful, we went scuba divinâ?? for 3 days

On our way back we stopped in HK for the day, where I went shoppinâ?? and clubbinâ?? with my friends! Ahhh I luv them all!
