My experience in South Africa so far has been so amazing. After safaring through game park for just 4 days, I really have learned so much about the spirit of animals, and how they act in the wild. It is sooo much different to see these animals out in the wild, instead of locked up in a small cage in the zoo. On each safari, we had a tracker, pictured below, who tracked down the animals through footprints, for it was so difficult to see them in the wild. we also had a guide, who gave us information about the wildlife and answered any questions that we had, who also drove us around the park.

We had to carry a rifle just in case any of the animals charged our car, but the guide said that none of the guides ever used one, and that is was just for safety procedures.

Me and Yena!

In the park there were giraffe EVERYWHERE, but somehow I never grew tired of seeing them, for they were so elegant and beautiful:
The leopard, a solitary animal, was one of the most beautiful animals we saw on the trip. I got 2 ft away from it!!:

Baby hyena!!!!!!!!!! I wanted to take it home with me.

What are the two animals that cause the most deaths in Africa? Believe it or not, the two below:

One of the most amazing experience was getting a tour of the local village in the region. Everyone was not only so friendly and welcoming to us, but they were also so happy and content with their lives. Every single one of them. By just having enough to eat, and a roof over their heads, they were so happy with life and where they were. There are not many places in the world where I have seen such happiness. It was definetely an eye opener for me, again reminding me how important the gift of life is. Here is the local men’s choir. They sang to welcome us to their village:

Traditional African Dance:

Right before we left from the park, a giant male elephant came ONE foot away from the car. It was such a great goodbye:

About the Latest Miss Misa Collection, “My Heart Lies in South Africa”:
When spending two weeks both in the rural and urban areas of South Africa, I saw that poverty and AIDS was an apparent issue that cannot be ignored in the contemporary world. That is why 15f all profits from this collection, made partially from materials I puchased in South Africa, are donated to the Cotlands (www.cotlands.org).
Even though I might not be able to help every single one of the 1.1 million AIDS orphans in South Africa, I will still be able to help one or two, which is better than doing nothing. If you are interested in donating to this organization or getting involved with this organization, please visit www.cotlands.org.
